We undertook a comprehensive renovation and addition project for this beautiful 1900s villa in Mile End. The scope of work involved careful demolition of parts of the existing structure, including the lounge and cellar, to make way for a modern update that seamlessly integrated with the villa's historic charm. Our renovation included the construction of a new bathroom and laundry, which enhanced the home's functionality. We also designed and built a spacious new kitchen, dining, and entertaining area, providing a contemporary space that met the needs of modern living while respecting the villa’s classic aesthetic. Throughout the project, our client Lia played a pivotal role in the design and selections process with Mavtect Designs. Her active involvement and vision were instrumental in ensuring that the new additions were beautifully connected to the original elements of the villa. Lia’s thoughtful approach and attention to detail were key in creating a harmonious blend of old and new, resulting in a home that retained its historic character while offering updated amenities and style. This project exemplified our commitment to preserving architectural heritage while delivering modern, functional living spaces. The successful integration of the new elements with the villa’s historic features stood as a testament to our collaborative approach and dedication to quality craftsmanship.
“We have had a great building experience with Thomas and his team. He is definitely a professional in his field. He was always present; from answering emails at 11 o’clock at night to coming over to check the site on Sunday afternoons and even evenings. He would always answer our calls and give quick solutions to any issues we may have had. He said the renovation will take 4 months, and it did. He also is surrounded by a great team of professionals. We are very happy with the result, and if we renovate again, we will definitely be in contact.”
